Chimney Service Pricing in St. Louis

Why we don’t publish repair prices

Because we would have to make them up. Two chimneys on the same street can need completely different work — one needs a crown sealed, the one next door needs the top eight feet rebuilt. Any range wide enough to be honest is too wide to be useful, and any range narrow enough to look useful is one somebody is going to be disappointed by.

Every chimney is different, so we do not publish repair prices. We inspect, show you photographs of what we found, and give you one fixed price in writing. You approve that number before any work starts, and it does not change unless we find something nobody could have seen — in which case we stop and talk to you first.

ServiceHow it’s pricedWhat determines your price
Chimney Inspection$69Flat $69 for a standard inspection, anywhere in the metro. No trip charge. Credited back in full against any repair you book with us.
Chimney SweepQuoted up frontDepends on chimney height, roof access, the type of appliance, and how much buildup is present. You get one fixed price before we start.
Chimney RepairStarts with the $69 inspectionRepair pricing depends entirely on what failed and how far it has gone. The $69 inspection turns that into one fixed number, in writing, before you commit — and the $69 comes off the work.
Chimney Leak RepairStarts with the $69 inspectionWe trace the source first — water testing and a camera scan where needed — then quote the actual fix as one fixed price. The $69 comes off the work.
Chimney Masonry & TuckpointingStarts with the $69 inspectionDriven by chimney height, roof access, how much of the joint has failed, whether brick also needs replacing, and whether the mortar has to be matched to historic lime mortar. The $69 inspection turns all of that into one fixed price, and the $69 comes off the work.
Chimney RebuildStarts with the $69 inspectionDepends on how far down the sound masonry starts, chimney height, roof access, whether the brick has to be matched to a historic home, and whether the flue is being replaced at the same time. The $69 inspection settles all of it into one fixed price, and the $69 comes off the work.
Chimney Cap InstallationStarts with the $69 inspectionDepends on flue size and count, whether you need a single-flue cap or a full-crown cover, and the material — stainless steel or copper. The $69 inspection gets it measured and priced, and the $69 comes off the work.
Gas Fireplace RepairStarts with the $69 inspectionDepends on which component failed and whether the part is still manufactured for your model. The $69 inspection covers the diagnosis, you get a fixed price before we replace anything, and the $69 comes off the repair.
Gas Fireplace Inspection$69Flat $69, credited back in full against any repair you book with us.
Chimney Odor & Smoke Smell RemovalStarts with the $69 inspectionOdor almost always has more than one cause, so the price depends on what the inspection finds — a sweep, a cap or crown repair to stop moisture, a top-sealing damper to stop the downdraft, or some combination. You get one fixed price before anything starts, and the $69 comes off the work.
Chimney Animal & Bird RemovalStarts with the $69 inspectionDepends on what is in there, how far down it is, roof access, and how much nesting material and droppings have to come out. Sanitizing and a cap are usually part of the fix. You get one fixed price before we start, and the $69 comes off the work.
Smoky Fireplace & Draft RepairStarts with the $69 inspectionThe fix ranges from clearing a blockage to correcting a badly built smoke chamber, so the price follows the diagnosis. What we will not do is guess — you get the cause in writing with photographs and one fixed price, and the $69 comes off the work.

Pricing questions

How much does a chimney inspection cost in St. Louis?

Total Chimney Services charges a flat $69 anywhere in the St. Louis metro, with no trip charge, credited back in full if you book a repair with us.

Why is the inspection only $69?

Because we would rather earn the repair. An expensive inspection makes people put it off, and a chimney that goes uninspected for years turns a small crown repair into a rebuild. At $69 there is no reason to wait, and if you hire us for the work it costs you nothing.

Is the $69 really credited back?

Yes, in full, against any repair you book with us. It comes off the quoted price of the work, not off a marked-up price. If you decide not to hire us, you keep the report and the photos and you owe nothing further.

Do you give free estimates?

No, and that is deliberate. A free estimate is a salesperson looking at your chimney from the driveway for ten minutes. The $69 buys a real diagnostic inspection — the camera scan where it is needed, the safety assessment, photographs, and a written report you keep. Then, if you book the work, the $69 comes back to you in full. So for anyone who actually hires us, it is free — and for anyone who does not, it is $69 for a genuine report rather than nothing for a sales visit.

Will the price change once you start the work?

Not unless we find something we could not have seen, and if that happens we stop and talk to you before doing anything. You approve a fixed number before we start. We do not bill hourly for chimney work.

Do you offer financing?

For larger jobs like rebuilds and relines, call us at (314) 887-7250 to discuss options. Chimney work of that size is rarely something people planned for.

Does homeowners insurance cover any of this?

Insurance generally covers sudden damage — a chimney fire, lightning, storm damage, a fallen tree. It generally does not cover deterioration from age or deferred maintenance. Our photo documentation is exactly what you submit with a claim, and we will provide it whether or not you hire us for the repair.
